Most leaks at equipment pads are in front or on top of the main pump or booster pump. This is generally caused by a jerking of the motor at startup and shutdown, creating stress on the male adapters attached to the pump. These leaks can be greatly reduced by bolting down the pump motors. Most companies do not bolt them down to the filter pad, as they don’t feel it is necessary. This is a do-it-yourself project that is relatively inexpensive and can help prevent leaks. If you are not a do-it-yourself-er, your local pool company should be able to bolt your equipment down for no more than your average service call fee.
